In Bangladesh as in Great Briton people drive on the left side of the road. It kind of scared me when I visited Scotland, but not here. Maybe the constant sense of doom makes the direction it comes from unimportant.
We're on our way to Birgonj, the village that will be our base of operations while we are in Bangladesh. I will be glad to get out of the car; I don't usually get car sick, but I don't usually drive like this.
I think we got in at 5:30 PM or so. A very long trip since we only stopped for lunch (Beef Buhna I think). After a while every village started to look like the one before it, but it is all new to me.
I was glad to be in the air conditioned van. When we arrived at out destination we walked around until the sunset getting pictures and video. People gather around us, especially the girls. I was originally afraid that people would resent us taking their picture, but mostly people seemed to encourage it, maybe just to get attention from the foreigners. Some where out there is a picture of me with a guy from (if I understood right) a town called Nazarene.
I still felt like an outsider, wondering what I was doing there, using equipment people here could never afford (just guess on that, I don't know for certain). Oh well I guess I just have to trust that things (or my attitude) will improve.
