A lot has happened since I last posted here, but I think the highlight of the last couple months has to be my trip to Italy. I flew into Rome on March 21 and then, with 4 friends, drove up to
Venice where we spent 2 days and 3 nights looking around. We got in after dark and what with all the lights reflecting off the Grand Canal I threatened to throw everything away and start life over in Venice. But alas wiser voices prevailed and I decided against it for the time being. After Venice we drove back to Rome by way of Pisa. I think we were there for less than an hour, which was more than enough time to see everything that we wanted to see. We spent 3 full days in Rome and got to see just about every thing we wanted to in that time. I think my favorite part was St. Peter's Basilica, but it is hard to chose a favorite from all the
beautifully piled heaps of ancient marble that are spread all over Rome. I had a 7am flight Sunday morning which meant leaving for the airport by 4am and with the time change that morning Dana and I decided to just stay awake instead of getting finding a place to stay. Needless to say I slept the entire flight back to Zurich and most of the rest of Sunday as well.
But playing hard means working hard later, and the last two weeks have indeed been busy. I have made considerable progress on several of the videos that will be shown at
general assembly this June, and will probably be used a great deal after that as well. There's still a bit left to do, but I've got some time to work on it.
I was supposed to be on a train to Spain this week (April 10 - 19), but we had to send in our passports in order to get visas for our trip on April 20 to the South Asia field. I am a little bummed as I really would have enjoyed going to Spain, and we really could have used some of the footage that we won't be getting. I am also relieved because not going to Spain means being able to work on the projects for General assembly a little more. It also means I will have more than 12 hours of prep time for our trip to S. Asia.
I'll let you know how things go when I get back from my trip, but until then, thank you for all your prayers.
